This morning, after breakfast, check out of your hotel and transfer to Kandalama, located within Sri Lanka's Cultural Triangle in the heart of the island. En route, visit the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Cultural Triangle encompasses a remarkable collection of heritage attractions, including the ancient cities of Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa, the magnificent Sigiriya Rock Fortress, and the intricate Dambulla Cave Temple. The region is also home to beautiful wildlife-rich national parks and forest reserves. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and relax at leisure.

After breakfast, transfer to Anuradhapura and begin a city tour of this ancient capital.
Commanding a rich Sri Lankan heritage, Anuradhapura is one of the world's greatest and oldest civilizations, flourishing for over 1,300 years at its peak. The jewel of the city is the sacred Sri Maha Bodhi - a revered Bo sapling grown from the tree under which Lord Buddha attained enlightenment - standing proudly for more than 2,200 years. Stroll through the sacred sites of this venerated city and admire a legacy that reflects Sri Lanka's distinguished culture and spiritual heritage.
Enjoy lunch in Anuradhapura. Thereafter, proceed to Mihintale, located just 16 km from the sacred city. Known as the cradle of Buddhism in Sri Lanka, Mihintale is the sacred site where Arahant Mahinda preached the first Buddhist sermon to King Devanampiya Tissa on a Poson full moon day. Walk past ancient ruins and ascend the famous granite staircase leading to the temple complex. Explore the remains of an ancient hospital and the Kantaka Stupa, built in the 1st century BC. Highlights include the Maha Seya, the main dagoba, and Aradhana Gala, a rock summit offering breathtaking views over the ancient Kingdom of Lakes - Anuradhapura.

In the morning, after breakfast, depart for Polonnaruwa, Sri Lanka's second ancient capital and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Once a well-planned medieval city, Polonnaruwa flourished as a major commercial and religious centre under King Parakramabahu. Today, visitors can explore its remarkably well-preserved ruins, including palaces, monasteries, and ancient irrigation systems. Visit the museum for historical insights and admire the famous Gal Vihara, renowned for its impressive granite Buddha statues carved from a single rock.
In the afternoon, depart for Minneriya National Park for an exciting jeep safari. The park is located near the vast Minneriya Tank and is bordered by Kaudulla National Park and Eco Park, offering one of the best opportunities to spot wild Asian elephants. Together with the nearby parks of Wasgamuwa and Kaudulla, Minneriya forms part of the renowned Elephant Corridor. One of its main highlights is the annual "Elephant Gathering," which takes place during August and September.

After a scrumptious breakfast, proceed to Kandy, visiting the Dambulla Cave Temple en route.
Explore the famed Dambulla Cave Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site dating back to the 1st century BC. This massive rock complex, comprising five caves, is Sri Lanka's largest and best-preserved cave-temple complex. The intricate Buddhist mural paintings that adorn the sloping ceilings — depicting scenes from the life of the Buddha and covering over 2,100 square meters — are particularly significant. Equally impressive are the 157 statues, including the remarkable 47-foot-long reclining Buddha statue.
After this, continue to Kandy, the bustling hill country capital and the last kingdom of Sri Lanka, now recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Kandy is best known for the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic, while at the heart of the city lies the scenic Kandy Lake, built in 1807. In and around Kandy, there is plenty to see and do, from taking leisurely walks through the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens and Udawattekele Forest Sanctuary to experiencing unique cultural events and traditional religious parades.

After breakfast, proceed to the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya. The Royal Botanical Gardens were originally established during the reign of a Sinhala king as a royal pleasure garden. Following the British takeover of the Kandyan Kingdom, the gardens were expanded and further developed into the picturesque site seen today. Covering 147 acres, the gardens feature a diverse collection of trees, plants, and flowering species, making them an ideal place to explore and enjoy the beauty of nature.
After visiting the gardens, begin a city tour of Kandy, the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings and a UNESCO World Heritage Site with much to discover. Drive around Kandy Lake, built by the last Sinhala king, Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe, in 1798. Explore the bustling town and bazaar, along with visits to the arts and crafts centre, gem museum, and lapidary. Conclude the tour with a visit to the Temple of the Tooth Relic, which houses the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha and serves as the focal point of the annual Kandy Esala Perahera festival.

After breakfast, explore Ella with your guide. Take a drive to a viewpoint overlooking the Ella Gap - a spectacular mountain pass from where, on clear days, you can see all the way to the ocean. Visit the world-famous Nine Arch Bridge, also known as the "Bridge in the Sky," hidden amidst lush tea plantations. Built by connecting two mountains during the construction of the Badulla–Colombo railway by the British, the bridge can be reached via a short hike or a tuk-tuk ride.
Enjoy an exhilarating trek to Little Adam's Peak, walking through scenic tea estates along a well-marked trail leading to the summit. From the top, admire panoramic views of the surrounding hills and valleys, including Ella Rock and the legendary Ravana Falls. The magnificent Ravana Falls is a true natural highlight, set against a backdrop of lush mountains and valleys.

Koggala Beach, located on Sri Lanka's southern coast near Galle, is a serene and expansive destination, known for being one of the island's longest stretches of beach.
