Considered a fan-favourite amongst hikers in Sri Lanka and beyond, the hiking trail to the peak of Ella Rock is approximately a 10-km round trip and may take about 3 to 5 hours – depending on your fitness level and experience.

The hiking trail winds through thick tea plantations in shades of vibrant green, rustic railways, and dense forests. After completing the trek in about 2 hours, you will reach the peak where you will see beautiful panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys, including gorgeous views of the "Ella Gap." If you start the hike early in the morning, you can catch the spectacular sunrise – it would be a sight to behold.
